Visarc is recruiting for an experienced web designer to work on a prestigious portfolio of high-profile accounts. This is a new role created to support our expanding business.

about you & the role

The successful candidate will ideally have 2-5 years experience, preferably including time at an agency. You will need to be able to hit the road running in terms of technical ability and be open enough to learn new skills as you develop with us. You will be responsible for delivering a number of projects for clients to the highest standard whilst working to tight deadlines. You will require an adaptive mind that can jump between multiple projects during a day’s work.

The role will help shape web projects from initial briefs to going live and the usual day-to-day studio amendments and developments for ongoing projects. We are looking for a problem solver who can think creatively and understand the importance of working within brand guidelines.

A large part of your role will be website/UI design, so knowledge of Adobe XD and/or Sketch, and an understanding of responsive layouts would be expected as would a basic knowledge of UX principles and CMS systems. As a Web Designer, you should also be proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator. Our studio has a wide variety of projects that include email design, social media projects, branding, brochure design and campaign development. We are a close unit that works well together, so the ability to communicate and develop ideas openly within a team environment is needed as well as being comfortable working independently.

  • The ability to design effective responsive websites
  • Skilled in Adobe XD and/or Sketch/Figma
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop
  • Experience in other Adobe programs such as InDesign
  • A strong interest in web design trends and design in general
  • Experience understanding and following brand guidelines
  • Strong problem solving, and communication skills
  • Sourcing of appropriate imagery
  • The creation of website graphics such as icons
  • Accuracy and attention to detail essential
  • A creative eye in terms of layout skills
  • Ability to cope with changing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Good organisational skills
