senior front-end web developer

Visarc is recruiting for an experienced Senior Front-End web developer to work either in our offices in Ashford (Kent) or remotely. You will be joining our digital development team working on websites, software solutions and crafting digital experiences that ignite curiosity and drive innovation for our clients' well-known brands, particularly in the automotive sector.

the role

As a Senior Front-End Developer, you’ll play a key role, working with the design team and back-end developers to deliver high-quality front-end solutions either as an individual or as part of a bigger team. The ideal candidate will also be able to work with the wider delivery teams at the project conception stage to drive the technology choices. You’ll need to ensure that the documentation of all solutions is clear and easily communicated to others to deliver the requirements efficiently. The candidate will also be comfortable helping the new business team estimate development opportunities and complete associated documentation.

An interest in UI/UX best practices will be welcomed as we look to build a team keen to expand on what we do and drive us forward.

Visarc is an Umbraco Gold Partner agency and outside of our numerous bespoke built solutions, we exclusively use Umbraco as our CMS. Any experience of Umbraco is beneficial, but not essential as training will be provided. We therefore work in a Microsoft, PC based environment.

about you

To be considered for the role you will need:

• at least 5 years experience in a fast-paced agency environment
• you will have handled multiple projects concurrently and will be able to switch between tasks effectively with an Agile mindset
• a strong work ethic and a willingness to go the extra mile
• excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• we’re not afraid to push boundaries, you’ll be exploring the latest tech stacks and driving innovation so a genuine interest in web development, and always looking to explore new ideas and technology is a must
• a commercial mindset, where you nail every detail that matters for clients, but are also able to balance efficiencies that benefit the agency
• well-developed time management skills with the ability to cope with changing priorities and tight deadlines
• strong HTML/CSS(SASS) skills, with extensive experience delivering responsive websites/online systems
• familiarity with modern frontend build tooling (npm, webpack, Babel, Vite) and constructing build pipelines
• CMS integration experience, ideally with Umbraco
• extensive JavaScript skills
• experience with frontend frameworks such as Vue, React, or Angular
• experience working with REST APIs
• proficient with Git version control for code management
• some exposure to unit testing, even if just a solid understanding of its benefits
